Reading Hour Kids Library Lock-in
September 19, 2019

Celebrate an hour of reading with our friendly Children’s Librarians as they read books from your favourite genres. Book in to let us know your reading tastes. At the end, make a Reading Hour badge to wear with pride. For school-aged children and their parents. Parents must stay with their children in the library. Bookings are preferred but not essential.

Julie Keys Author Event

This year at the Library, local author Julie Keys will be giving a talk and a reading from her novel “The Artist’s Portrait” – a critically acclaimed story about art, murder and making your place in history. All ages are welcome, and books will be available for purchase and signing on the day.

Northern Beaches Libraries will host Richard Glover for an evening author talk in celebration and in the lead up to Australian Reading Hour.

The Library will be open exclusively after-hours for the event.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine and a nibbles table before Richard begins.

Book an appointment to rekindle your passion for reading.

Can’t make it to this event?  Try our personalised reading suggestion service. Bookings are essential.

3 staff members will be available to consult. In house created reading oracle cards based on genres, appeals and themes will be used to locate a book for guests to take home.
